    Bob, Beautiful work but your pictures are out of focus. Please take new ones and also include some closeups showing interiors through the open areas in the deck and hull.

    Bob, Great looking oars and base for your display. I usually don't put that much work in mine, but you have made me reconsider. Although I did build one unusual base. It was based on one I saw at a museum. It was made on a turntable so the observer could turn it to view the work of art from all sides. I incorporated a glass dome on mine to keep fingers off the model. It was a great hit, but the model was of a fully rigged armed launch at 1/8" to a foot scale so the base was only 9" in diameter and didn't take up much space to display. If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.

The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.

The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal.
