I missed this somehow. Lovely job!
I've seen the kit listed, but never saw a completed example.

Nicely done, Jim!

Thanks for the nice comments, Jolley Roger.

Thank you Nils,
It was a fun and VERY QUICK build, which was a nice change. I would have started a blog on it, but it was done by the second day. Very simple, with only a dozen major parts.

Beautiful work. You replaced a lot of the kit parts, didn't you? Did you make your own blocks and grating?
I would like to hear more about how you built this model.

Thank you Tadeusz. Much appreciated!

Thank you Piet. I too really liked the way that pennant turned out. It's fairly sturdy paper stock, so I was able to impart some waves in it and it's kept its shape nicely. I'm definitely going to remember that in future builds.

Thanks Jesse. I did use wood for the spars and blocks and a few metal fittings like belaying pins, eyebolts and cannon barrels. But the hull and all the deck details are pretty much all paper.

Thanks ragove. Honest, as I was working on the model, that amazement I felt for the project was definitely one of the things that kept me going.

I never thought much of the kit, but I have always loved the look and history of this ship, and you've done an extraordinary job with it. Beautiful job on the sails, planking, rigging - everything looks really well done. Best Prince de Neufchatel I've seen!

James, nicely done!

I've always loved that kit, with all its large scale details. You've done a very fine job on this build. I had the kit a long time ago and tried to outdo my abilities and messed it all up. Your model definitely makes me want to give it another go.
Beautiful!

That's some really nice detail work you added. Beautiful model!

Beautiful model, Barbossa!
I have a partially started Panart kit that was left to me by a fellow ship modeler that passed away a couple years ago. I hope to finish it for him at some point. Is this the same kit? Panart, that is?
Did you build this using all the kit components? Or did you change anything?
Again, very nicely done.

Schooner, best "steel hull" wooden ship model I've see.
Congrats on a fine build!

Very nice. I have this kit partially built, but I set it aside to deal with other projects. After looking at this, I'm going to have to get back to it. Well done!
