Very nicely done, Chief!

No worries. If you get stuck, the moderators should be able to help. Cheers Patrick

Hi Seafury45
What a beautiful model. These sorts of ships are always great to model because they have so many interesting details to build and admire. Can you do a build log so that we can see more of her, or at least post more gallery photos, perhaps?
Cheers
Patrick

Very nice!

Hi Piet. There's nothing more that can be said, except "utterly beautiful". Great boat, great model and all for a great cause, the Wounded Warrior project. The new owner should be deservingly proud to take ownership of this beauty. Cheers. Patrick

What a truly masterful job you have done! You must be proud to look back and think "what an accomplishment". Well done!
-
Beautiful! Love the detail. Well done.

Well, Niils....what's there not to like about this beautiful tug. Fantastic workmanship. Beautifully detailed, heaps of character and charm. Home made steam engine. Etc, etc, etc. all in all, just a beautiful model! Cheers. Patrick

Hi Igor. No probs! Have you considered doing a build log so that we can see and learn how you put the ship vertically into the bottle? It's one of those things that we all marvel at, and whilst others in this Forum have shown us previously, it still wouldn't do any harm to see how you've done it.
Cheers

Very nice! Well done.

Hi Frankie. Sadly, there's no build log because I didn't have a camera ten years ago (when I built her). At least the final product is here to see. Thanks for asking, though.

Hi Nils. Thanks. This boat was done about 10 yrs ago. I' had displayed it in the Gallery before, but Shawn asked for more photos (which are now posted). The son a previous owner of the real Binker also contacted me via thGallery tonight for more details and I was hopefully able to assist.

Beautiful model! Your Dad would be very proud, I am sure. I love the detail and character, not to mention the weathering of the hull. Well done and congratulations!
-
Hi Shawn. Pls accept my apologies as I only received your comment now! I will definitely try to post some more photos of Binker, but they will be of the completed model only, as I don't have the construction photos.
Thanks and all the very best!

Hi Jeff. Very nice! I especially like the setting and diorama surrounding the sub. Looks colourful, yet realistic.
Well done.

Hi Don. Very nice and well done. It is certainly an unusual subject If you get a chance, it would be nice if you could pllease post some closer photos in order to better admire your work.

Absolutely fantastic!!!! Now, that's what I call a real fun build. Well done.

Very clever!

Great job!

Hi Omega 1234, You have produced a very good likeness with only a book to help you - fantastic. And thank you for your kind words, I am hoping to get her back in the water next spring, it is proving difficult to get any further information for her other than that given by Uffa Fox, I may have to make some educated guesses.
Hi Binkerdoune. Cheers and all the best for the restoration. Happy sailing!

Great Model, I would recognise her anywhere. I am in the process of rebuilding the actual yacht Binker in Scotland. She is now repanked, new deck etc and we are starting to try and piece together her sailing rig. Do you have any photos of her or do you have any contact with any previous owners? Many thanks
Hi Binkerdoune. That's amazing and incredibly exciting to hear that you're restoring the actual Binker! Sadly though, I don't have any sources for further info. All I had to build her were the plans from a book and my imagination for the interior. I wish you every success for the restoration and her new lifespan! All the very best!!

Hi Overdale. The sense of desperation, sadness, tragedy, helplessness and suffering of the ships crew and passengers is captured magnificently in your diorama. A true masterpiece. Well done!

Hi Nils. Always loved this ship, ever since I was a little kid. Im 51 now; so that was some time ago! Truth be told, there is not much not to like about Dorade. She has beautiful lines, graceful yet fast and classic in every respect. A true beauty.

Hi Seafury.45
Great models! You seem to be a very prolific builder! If possible, it'd still be great to see some build logs appearing. I know you said that you were working on it, so, I'll pipe down and be patient!
Cheers
Patrick
