TurboCad Printing - NEED HELP

Recommended Posts

I'm trying to print from TurboCad to a Brother MFC-5890CN, which prints on 11x17 paper.  I've run into a problem where printing at 1:1 actually prints slightly larger.

A test I ran with TurboCad attempted to print a straight line exactly 12 inches long.  The printout actually measured at slightly under 12.25 inches.

To determine if the problem was in the printer or the software I printed a 12 inch line from Excel, and the printed output measured exactly 12 inches.

I'm relatively new to TurboCad, but I think I've learned enough to start producing some CAD drawings for my next build.  However, until I solve this print issue I can't reach that stage.  Can anyone suggest ways to get my printed output to measure accurately?

Thanks!

I don't have TurboCAD, but have a couple others. Look at the options when you bring up the Print window. Is there an option to change the scale ratio of the printout?. DesignCAD has a couple of them. Maybe the default margins, or the paper size options are wrong. I hope this helps.

Thanks Ron.  I do have the scale of 1:1 set.  There are four options for the tabloid paper, and I've only been using the 'Borderless Tabloid' setting.  I'll try each of the others to see if it makes a difference.
