I came across the following site called 'Waxing Philosophic' which discusses the various waxes, their mixtures and their solvents. Myself...I have always used the floor pasted wax (johnston brand)....has seemed to be working well for me... I was told...don't remember who...long time ago to be carefull of what type wax you use...can transfer from your tools (saws...) to the wood and interfier with a finish you might use...
