bagpiperuler Posted June 2 #1 Posted June 2 Harold Underhill's plans for a 2 masted topsail schooner show the foremast lower yard attached to the mast using a yoke ( a forked support). I've made one for barquentine Waterwitch but this one looks different and the drawing is vague. Can anyone shed some light on the design? thibaultron 1 Quote
Dr PR Posted June 3 #2 Posted June 3 Not knowing which vessel, the time period, or whether it had wood or steel masts, we can only guess. But Underhill did publish several drawings of different truss types for lower yards in Masting and Rigging The Clipper Ship and Ocean Carrier. He also included a sail and rigging plan for a two mast topsail schooner (Plate No. 44) in Masting and Rigging, and another for the schooner Kate in Sailing Ship Rigs and Rigging (page 56).
