Would something like this be too ambitious for a newbie?

I really like the idea of a Yacht but have no idea how difficult it would be to complete a plank on frame version. Any comments or suggestions welcome. I should add that I don't really fancy building on a resin hull but solid wood in a smaller scale would be ok if available. I don't need the tools in the kit linked really but may come in handy I suppose!

It may be a bit ambitious depending upon your experience with wood, but with patience, and a certain tolerance for frustration, it would certainly be build-able! It appears to have some very sweet sweeping lines and would be a gorgeous model when finished, though!

I think that it would be ideal for a beginner.

My first build was very similar - the Amati Endeavour (http://www.cornwallmodelboats.co.uk/acatalog/amati_endeavour10.html).

It was a challenge as a first build, but only because I had no experience and absolutely no idea what I was doing. Really, it was not particularly difficult and I learned a great deal. Amati's instructions are excellent.

I certainly did not do a perfect job, but I was very pleased with the end result.
