Xebec / Sciabecco / Jabeque - 1753 - Amati

Hi, Merry Christmas to all!

 

I've started one year ago another kit model, the Jabeque from Amati; an extensively used ship in the Mediterranean sea. The kit has better quality compared to my last model Terror from Occre, but it's more tricky  if you want the best finish, i make my best but it's not perfect 🤭.

 

This is the first group of pictures, trying to show the construction process.

 

First rounds of hull. I start at top of the hull to fix the ends in the better way, and end the hull in the middle:

Fixing the other side of the hull, 

Planking the rest of the hull, the last planks as spikes are difficult but i prefer to make the hull by this way and ensure the first and last planks are in the correct way, 

Next, the bulwarks ("amuradas" en spanish, sorry if i'm using the wrong word)

 

The bulwarks has double planking, this is the inside wall. I'm fixing already painted

You can see the quality of the wood 

And the hull completed, 

Finally, the second layer of fine wood, i've only a partial picture,

 

Soon i'll take more pictures!
