Hi

I am working my way through building the Model Shipways kit of the American Fishing Schooner "Elsie" and have come up against a parts problem. The part in questions is, as per attached pic, WP6803 Boom Jaw Rest, which is a Britannia Casting. All the other castings have been accounted for and placed. However, I have scoured all the plans and the accompanied instructions; consulted the modelling guide by Erik Ronnberg and "The American Fishing Schooners 1825-1935" mighty tome by Howard I. Chapelle and can find no reference to the part or anything that looks like it.

I have emailed Model Expo but as it is a discontinued kit they have no one who can identify the part. It is probably staring me in the face but can anyone please shed any light on where this part goes on the model?

Cheers

Andy

Hi Andy. I believe it is fitted on the mast, teeth down, and the jaw fitting at the end of the horizontal boom rests on it.
