Split barge Bengel 1/400

This is the split barge Bengel. A seemingly insignificant working vessel, like so many, from the world of dredging. 

These barges are used as transporters between backhoe dredgers or cutter suction dredgers and reclamation/dumping areas. They are generally used where floating and sunken pipelines can not be used and to get into shallow areas. They are pumped full of sand or rock and discharge by splitting into two. That is also what I tried to represent in this model.

Followed the building process in the ModelWarShip-forum and it is indeed a very nice rendering of an unusual subject - love these working ships that keep the more spectacular ones running and our coasts safe!
