18th Century Longboat - by Model Shipways

Hi guys, this is my 3rd completed build, following the Revenue Cutter and the Lady Nelson, I chickened out of a build log but found myself surprisingly happy with the results (bar the rope bundles! Working on it) so I had to put it out there.
 
I gained a massive amount of knowledge from this excellent little kit, hat tip to Chucks instruction and a big thank you to the whole community for the vast amount of information provided from your endeavors, it makes this hobby of ours way more fun.

I like the amount of unpainted wood that you have incorporated. It's a good move as far as I am concerned, especially when your hull planking is so beautifully symmetrical and the rest of the woodwork is so tidy too. You display your excellent workmanship throughout the build.

 

Number three build eh? You set a high standard for me to try to match. (I've only finished one so far.) 🙂

I couldn’t bring myself to paint the hull after so many hours deliberating what the hell I was doing, and then managing to pull off a (mostly) symmetrical bow. The stern did not fare so well, there’s one plank on the underbelly that is considerably wider than the rest! Also, I love seeing the nail pattern in the wood.
 
AVS up next, I will be attempting an unpainted boxwood hull, I may even man up and do a build log.

Beautiful job on this build.  This model is not as easy to build as Model Shipways says it is, but you nailed it.  Congratulations!
