After Charles II (1630-1685) picked up the idea of sailing for fun in Holland he commissioned his shipbuilders to build him English versions of the yacht Mary, which was a Dutch present. His shipwrights did a beautiful job. Different sorts of water caused different sorts of ships, as can be seen when comparing these two vessels.
As usual I created this model from paper and card and my son Emiel did the graphic impression.
