    With excitement & trepidation... here I go! So thankful for this site as a resource! First thing is that the keel is not perfectly straight. Not terrible but not perfect. As the keel & hull come together will this get straightened out during the process, or is there something I can do now to straighten it? I got this kit on eBay & it looks & smells like it's been in an attic neglected for a few decades... Thanks! Andy

    Mick, I'm a first-timer who has a Billing Boats Will Everard all unpacked & just started. The instructions are scant at best, and now that I've seen & read your posts, I will simply pack things up & order myself a more appropriate "first" model boat kit. Your posts are invaluable, so thank you. My best wishes on your health.

The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.

The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal.
