  1. Hi Admiral,

I think the motor and electrics is the easy bit.Any 380-540 size can motor(model car or boat)would do it,connected through a switch to a mains adapter preferably 6v.I think the hard bits mounting the drill bit.Easy if you have a metal lathe but if you haven't,very awkward.Any lack of trueness will certainly result in broken drills.

    Kind Regards Nigel

thanks nigel and a good point, i have plenty of motors its just the main bit to hold the drill, unless i can find some parts laying around from rc cars and helicopters probably easier to just buy one.

  2. They're plentiful and cheap. You can find them easily on eBay. Have a look at http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/170803404093?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649. That one's from Hong Kong, but you can find them in many countries, I should imagine.

Thanks Tony i've had a look already but i'd love to just be able to make my own otherwise i'd probably get one if i cant make me own, but im not the best at electronics though i do enjoy it.

  3. I've seen a few of these from a russian model forum and they look quite useful for drilling smaller holes efficiently, sure you could probably use a router but they're a bit big when using 0.5 drills, does anyone have any information on them or how to make one? (images can be found on google 'Diy motor drill' theres a few images to give you an idea of what im talking about https://www.google.co.uk/search?safe=off&q=diy%20motor%20drill&psj=1&bav=on.2,or.r_cp.r_qf.&bvm=bv.50165853,d.d2k,pv.xjs.s.en_US.seW1cfrvSKg.O&biw=1152&bih=628&um=1&ie=UTF-8&hl=en&tbm=isch&source=og&sa=N&tab=wi&ei=wBH9UYTENK7J0AWU7oHYAQ)
