    Cheers guy's.

Well its been two day's work so far to get the Cutter hung to the davit.

One of the shroud cleats came away, but were getting there now.

    The Port side should be a doddle('He say's') .

    Some pictures of the cutter.

Once shroud cleat(Dafis etch)are tied on, tried just to glue, and it doe's not work, so recommend that you tie them to the shrouds.

    Nice one folks.

One more picture of the finished Anchors on the Starboard side, tuther side next.

Was a bit of a pain tying the main anchor with a few choice words.

So Port side should be a doddle('he say's')

Have this ship in the stash, some very good points raised , I hope to use metal eyelets/eyebolts fixed with CA.

Have found this very strong on other builds, the wire one is cheaper though and worth looking into.

    Thanks for the input here.

    Keep it coming.

This is a picture of the artwox decking.
The raised areas just pop out with the deck fitting perfect.

As you see it fits very well, this is my build of the Warspite.

    Thanks Frank, Mark.

Yes the stove was fun to work out and thats half the fun, ain't it.

Well moved on a tad with the overhanging shrouds(futtocks).

Used a small piece of brass rod and Dafis etched parts.

So as not to bore you I will finish this side and the other before more pictures.

    Another update.
Made up the wheel and now making crew to work it.

Next it was fit the upper deck, this all went well and weighed down to dry.

At the same time going forward and then backward, 'if you see what I mean'.!!!!
I test fitted the quarter deck, this needed 2mm each side about a third the way up being removed.

    'Yep weights still inplace'.
All went well after the surgery.

    Also tested the forward castle.

fits fine and will go higher as ness.

Then it was the poop decks turn, this fitted well but need to sand off one side to lower.

    Tested the fittings.

All seems fine now its time to go backward again

    Ready to place later.

Also added flags to the lockers.

Well been busy on the mizzen mast with Dafi's etch parts.
Used his etch parts for the boom rest, but used the Heller part for the belaying pins, but there is an etch for this also.
Will add a blob of PVA on the belaying pins.

Next it was the ropes that are added before the shrouds are placed.

    Used Syren products for this.
An overall picture of the mast so far.

Then it was the turn of the Channels.
Added Dafi's eyelets to this, plus extras.

In the foreground are the mizzen channels.
Also added extra plastic to the width, this being 1mm and the lugs to connect.

Well moved on a touch with the blocks etc.

As promised have cleaned up and added blocks to the lookout tops, not sure if the Mizzen mast has these blocks beneath, cannot find any ref to them in my books.
But the Heller kit has three holes each side for them.

Also added the Syen double blocks to the main and fore yards.

Also added the Bluejackets white metal twin blocks.

    More later.

Had them sent to one of my relations, so as to save money.

    All helps.
These are some that I already have for the block/tackle for the upper/quarter decks, still another 29 to make, they work too.

Ok unshipped the guns from this deck(middle) added wood dowls to the base from Keiths suggestion for secure fitting.

    Drilled and glued inplace.

Next its a test fit of the upper deck, all seems well.

still some work on the stern, but want to finish up to the quarterdeck before finishing the outer hull properly.

Well have left this for some time and it gets buried so quickly.

Have now started again with the stern Davits, roped and one side(Starboard) will have a cutter hanging from the davit.

Then its the boats now fitted.

    Jolly boat strapped.

The Anchors was next with most done but the Davit and chain on the port side.

Added all the brass rings and finished the rigging with Bunting lines.

Just Davits/Boats to mount/Figures to place and some very small additions.

    Which should complete this build.

So now its back to the fray.

    The boat Davits are next.
Thanks to Daniel(Dafi) for the replacement etch hinges.

So after a clean up folded.

Next drilled out Davits and added metal lugs.

    The added Dafi's eyelets etc.

Some of the new tools to make a better job of my next ship.

    Thanks for looking folks.

    Thank you guy's, much appreciated.

Well have been struggling to make the parral's for the topsail yards.

So, using plastic and brass I have managed to solve this problem.

First made up the ash ribs from plastic.

Then to keep all square/strait I used two brass rods and filed to size.

In the spares box I had some brass tops that came from support railings, these had the holes already drilled.

I always save these scrap things,'you never know when they may be usfull'.

    So now strung together.

Making up two pair's of parral's for main and formast topsail yards.

Some brown paint to finish and then mount.

    Hi Ronald.

The Paints I am using are APS9014W HMS Victory Set.

These are water based and very good, you get all the colours needed for this ship.
I used a primer first on the plastic hull and then sprayed the colours needed.

I got these from Cornwall Model Boats Ltd
Unit 4D, Highfield Rd Ind Est.
    Camelford.
    Cornwall.
    PL32 9RA
    United Kingdom.
    Phone- 044-01840211009
I am not sure if the first three numbers are right, so maybe check these when phoning from the states.

I also use Life color water based paints for this project.

    For the Lathe.
    Its a Proxxon- DB 250.
They do a fantastic range of tools that are use full for modeling.

    Frank.

Hope this helps you find what your looking for.

Two more pictures of the hanging(futtocks)shrouds.

    Mizzen mast.

Some tidying up to do, then other side.

    Hi Ronald.
The photo etch comes from Dafis wonderful etched sets.
If you contact him I am sure he will help you.
Just hit on his sig and send a message.
As for the wood deck, well its 2mm and 3mm I used and came from Cornwall model boats.
Just type this in and you should be able to find there site.
I used maple wood for this build.

Moving on with the stay's done for standing rigging its time for the ratlines to be done.

I thought in this scale that if I tied them it would be oversize.
So the simple way seemed the best.
    Just glue to the shrouds.

To save time and glue I did all the shrouds with three rows, then left to dry and cut off the excess.

This is time consuming but it works!!!.

One other thing I did was to move the Anchor rest forward between the first two chains, this allowed the anchor to sit right later.

Thanks very much Lawrence, much better now thanks  .

Well have been busy of late with all the top ropes strung.

Left loose till main stay ropes have passed over mast/shroud.

    Then tightened up.

With the main stay ropes in place.

One point is the main stay ropes to the bowsprit.
As all know they pass through the bowsprit and then attach to block and tackle.
For those doing this build, its advisable to add the blocks near the knights head before adding the netting and booms.
This will be a lot easier.
The blocks I used for this were of Syren manufacture and can move if ness.

Next its the stay ropes from masts to channels etc.

This is the sequence I am following for this static build.
Having good plans of the rigging helps, so far its standing rigging I am working on.

Thanks guys for all your imput and likes.

    All the best Frank.

Thanks Lawrence, There are so many good builds here its a job to take them all in.
    Yours is no exception.
    Hi Ronald.

The deck planking are 2mm and 3mm, mostly 2mm wide maple.
I got mine from Cornwall model boats(England), there 1'000 in lengths, but they cut them down to export.

The lathe is of German make and I believe I got this from Axmister tools in England.

I am sure you could also get these in the States too.

    Hope this helps.

Moving on a touch with the top shrouds.

Keeping them loose on the running rigging till all done, then its the stay's to tension up and then tighten up the shroud runners.

You could if you wanted to make all adjustable, but as this is a static model all will be fixed.

    Frank.

Well its been a bit hard going, as I should have done the fire buckets earlier, anyone having a go at this should think on this.
Now having enuff KG etched crests(thanks to Daniel)I started thinking on how to place them with the shroud ropes done.

I added a strip of plastic from the tops left over part, stuck this behind to the top of the plastic rear bulkhead of the poop deck.

Then used plastic glue to hold buckets, later will add CA to the handles.

Later when all settled will paint handles and surrounding area black.

Next its on to the upper shroud ropes.
Used .63mm for the lower and for the upper will use .30mm black.

For both shrouds I will use .08mm for the ratlines.

    Frank.
