the last 24 hours has been a steep learning curve, learnin to spraypaint, stayed up all night try to get it right, a combination os using a very cheap gun, and the incorrect thinners for the type of paint i am using, also not knowing what im doing hasnt helped, but at last i think i am getting somewhere
Lawrence, my reason is that by the time i get to the hull, i might have learnt how to paint

That's the Bunny !... I thought of her last night when I was joking about Maple, and said to myself that if I win this one she'd be my question.
When I read the posts from Jay and yourself where ye both said Maple I actually laughed out loud! (LOL 'd in fact)
Well Done and over to you (btw there is no Arklow Maple)

I changed direction literally from North to South.. perhaps you mean change direction mentally.. ie Poles as in Poland perhaps (boat does have a somewhat Baltic look about it) ?
Dang, Nigel that's 3 hours wasted looking for fishing boats with Maple Syrup in the name!
See ye tomorrow folks
Eamonn
Edit: had a last look (kept thinking along original lines ie Pole = North Pole = Artic, add Canada & Women and you get High Canadian Latitudes and I think I've found her! or at least something darn close
Is it Calanus ?

Funnily enough I did wonder whether someone would call a trawler 'babe magnet' as it fits with the clues.Unfortunately my search revealed nothing, some rather unusual pics but no trawler. My brain has reached meltdown looking at pics,I will have another look tomorrow
Kind Regards Nigel
P.S. Eamonn,I might be wrong,but I have a feeling you won't find maple syrup in the name,just a hunch

NMBROOK got a reaction from Dimitris71 in Sovereign Of The Seas by NMBROOK - Scale 1/84 - based on the works of Van De Velde the elder
As I mentioned earlier, these next few stages are really slow.I have fitted the deck beam shelves and planked the inside of the hull on the starboard side, including lining the gunports. The framework of the entry port is in place, but this will have the carvings added at a later date, probably when I fit the channels as they sit on the middle channel.I had to reverse engineer the gunports to ascertain the deck levels which involved a great deal of headscratching, but it did 'prove' my gunports were correct. The internal planking has had several coats of poly applied in preparation for treenailing.I am using Dafi's(thank you Dafi) idea for drilling the holes inside.I have glued a drill into the end of a bamboo skewer so I can poke it through the gunports to drill the holes on the opposite internal face.I have given it a try and it works great, but it ain't no Dremel so I may be at it some time
Kind Regards Nigel
