  1. I don't like the rigging that comes with MS kits. They are wound around a piece of plastic which is not round, and the line comes off with a distinct set to it. I'Ve tried soaking and stretching it, but the set never completely goes away. I much prefer the line that comes with Jotika kits that is wound on a round tube. So, I'm now at the point I've "borrowed" rigging line from a couple unstarted Jotika kits, but I will have to pay the piper soon. If there are no US suppliers, I can obviously go to Jotika, but I'm trying to avoid the shipping from England.

    What say mates?

  2. I started the ratlines on the other side to cool down. It wouldn't seem too awful bad if I hadn't disliked the shrouds when I first did them and then redid them. THEN.....On Friday my two dogs were roughhousing in my den and somehow knocked my ship off the desk. Ended up having to reset the mastheads and, you guessed it, several of the shrouds. I think when I'm done my head will be in the shrouds.

  3. Masterful job!!

The Pickle is on my waiting to start kit shelf. I know I will be referring to this log often when I start her.

I'm still thinking of not coppering the hull and going with something other than the stock walnut for the second planking. I love the look of wood, and have just not been a coppering guy. That being said, your coppering job is great.

    Thanks for sharing.
