Is it okay to use Balsa rather then basswood for filler blocks? I am starting with the Fair American and the Armed Virginia Sloop from Model Shipways. Does it really matter if I use one or the other? I have a very limited tool supply and no power tools yet. So I was hoping to use the balsa for that. Especially in the bow where I have to shape everything correctly. I wasn't sure if that was okay or not thanks.

Mike this is looking very nice. Its funny, I just came across this website a few weeks ago. Until I started looking at these models I never knew the Mayflower had canons onboard.

Anyone ever use it instead of wood fill blocks? I don't have any of the bigger equipment and won't for a while just wondering if I can use that instead of wood filler blocks?

I plan to follow this one closely as I really want this kit. Did they fix the bugs in it yet? I'd like to order it by the end of March with that nice sale thats going on.
