  1. It is paper with prints but you attach some photo-edged brass details on some doors etc to get a 3D-effect, I guess. The model is about 100 cm long ;-)
  2. I'm finally done with the filler blocks! I think it's best not to put a filler block at the second (or third) last gap, since I need to add the stern/rudder there, so a filler block might interfere with that.
  3. And this evening I've been shaping the two front filler blocks at the bow section.
  4. I started building this ship of dreams and hope about 2-3 years ago. I ran into to early problems with the build and therefore tucked it away. Now I have decided to give it another try, since I am fascinated by this ship and its story like so many others. I'll post some pictures of the build until today and will try to update the log as I go. Tips and advice are welcome!
  5. Thanks for the tips and advice! It feels as if I'm on the right course
  6. I don't have a band saw, unfortunately, so I'll have to shape the filler blocks by hand (knife, sandpaper and file). But should I shape them before or after I've sanded/shaped the bulkheads? I missed that I should dry fit the blocks
  7. When you use filler blocks, do you put them in place, shape them and then shape them together with the bulkheads before it's time for planking? Or do you shape the bulkheads first and then put in the filler blocks and shape them? I tried to find the answer by surfing the forum but without success.
  8. Hi Blakiston! Love the way your Flying fish looks. You wouldn't have a picture of the stern would you? I'm fighting with the planking and would love to see how Corel's Flying fish looks at the stern. Linda
