Those nails you have used are very nice looking, will change mine from the brass to your black ones, what model railroad co. did they come from? Keep up the excellent work, will follow your build and used your expertise!

almost finished with the cannons. I was going to post more but I can't find where on the computor I put them
-
Had to curve the channel down to match the hull then added another piece of wood under the channel when glued to the hull.
-
had to do a little grinding on the pieces to make them fit. Either they didn't make them right or I was putting them in the wrong place--too late now
-
Doing the gun doors I decided to plank the outside of the doors. After I droped one of the doors in the hull, I blocked the holes with tissue paper !
-
put red paint on the end of the cannon and placed it up against the side so I knew how high to drill the openning. and the last pic, ready for 2nd planking.
-
I should have measured twice befor cutting the gun ports. You can see the pencil marks where I have to move the ports and after I moved them and filled them in with wood. At least it was done on the first planking !

coming along . When it comes to deck items, including the inside bulkheads, I use what I thing looks good.

About the NRG
If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.
The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.
The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
