  1. At the bow, I allow them to lay their natural curve and fill in the open spaces.
  2. added a right and left support to the base of the mast.
  3. I nailed a test subject to see if my Dremmel cutter would cut the port holes in a clean matter. Works perfect !!!
  4. I pre-cut the base and removing them was quite easy.
  5. Started the first planking once I was sure where to begin the first one.
  6. After using the stern fillers, I had to repair one of the side ribs that broke.
  7. I used tooth picks for tree nails, easier than making them, lazy I guess.
  8. I painted the gunports and near by areas---I should have painted more of the area! After the hull was planked, you could see where it needed to be painted.
  9. The bow fillers supplied were not big enough no matter how you cut them, the last pic shows after filler was used.
  10. The above pic shows the blocks that came in the kit and the one on the right was purchased. Much better quality. I laid a string along the port side to see the natural flow of the gun ports, then marked the height of the ports.
  11. I have been off this model for little over a year, starting back and looking forward to it! My last one completed was the Caldercraft HMS Victory. This one has been enjoyable to build, not as long as it did with the Victory! Computors and I don't get along very well so I will try my hand at posting the pics.
  12. I did stop for awhile, Training for a trip up Mt Everest, trained for many months and 2 days befor my trip, twisted my back out and had to cancel, A week befor my trip, I should have wraped myself in bubble wrap !!! Joined the police Dept, gone through the Academy and having the best time of my life. No more Everest, next year, going on a 3 week Artic Expedition, all walking (anyone want to join me ?) If I can do it at 67, any one can. Now I will work on the WASA and post pics.
