Well first layer is done. Still gona smooth it out a bit more before second layer but I got tired of sanding lol really didn't use as much filler as I thought I would. Put on the keel and bulwark those were a pain in the ***, didn't want to fit to save my life. Gonna start gunports next, cut 1 out but decided no way am I doing them all by hand so I got my dremal charging and i have no idea why all my 0icture show up upside down, 2 different devices aswell

So this is my second build, my first being a constructo golden hind. Now I have put that away for awhile but I do intend to fix it at some point, I made multiple mistakes with it, its fixable but I want to start a fresh one. I didnt square my bulkheads, also over faired them aswell and ultimately was trying to go to fast. I think part of the problem was I got a ship that I couldn't find any logs on lol But here's my start to this one here, if got the bulk heads on and starting to plank the lower decks. The quality isn't the greatest but its actually better than the constructo. I do plan on changing a couple things thoough.

So I did fair the hull but it ended up being way to much as i thought it would be a good idea to use my dremel.. I'm gona stick with it and sand the ever living hell out of it as it is a single plank hull. May not look exactly as its supposed to but it's my first build and it's a learning experience

Yes, I messed up there. Luckily I can still rectify it, its actually supposed to be 2 separate decks

Not overly thrilled with what I got so far. Plan on redoing the top deck. Iv had to trim almost every pre cut piece in the kit so far, broke one but it got covered in plank anyway.

About the NRG
If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.
The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.
The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
