Very impressive carving. The wood is lighter color than the hull. Is it box wood or holly?
Keep up the great work.

Great metal work.
I have even more regard for your abilities now. I acquired a set of plans for LE REQUIN from ANCRE in Paris. Thinking I would also try to build LE REQUIN.
I studied the plans. They are very detailed and complex. A build like yours is beyond my abilities.
Keep up the great work.

I think I have a picture of my Xebec. I will post it when I find it.
I made it in 1963. The plans were published in a magazine called Popular Mechanics in 5 issues from November 1958 to March 1959.
It was called: "Modeling the French Chebec" by E. R. Haan. The plans appeared to be based on the same model that you are building.
Mr. Haan said: "Faithfully reproduced in exquisite detail by skilled craftsmen in the workshops of the French Navy's famous Musee de la Marine in Paris, this beautiful scale model is an authentic copy of the French warship Chebec which was one of several of the xebec class that distinguished themselves by many daring exploits during the years from A.D. 1650 to 1700."
Your iron work is incredible detailed.

I have followed your work for months. Your craftsmanship is excellent. I joined to tell you this.
Will you be making the ship's boat?
A Chebec is the first model I built years ago.

I am pleased to see you are back at work on Le Reqiun.
Really great detail on the kitchen and ship's boat.
