  1. Hello There. I really am glad to have found your post. I received this very same model as a gift and recently started working it. It is my first wooden ship and it sure is different from the usual modelling I work on. I am currently at the point of shaping the frame just prior to placing the planking. I was concerned about the second layer of copper planking, but nowhere in the plans did it indicate what that copper planking was, just part 33 (whatever that was). I assumed it was the copper roll, but I needed to make sure. Again thank you for posting your experience - a great help. A side note: The frame for the propeller in my kit was too wide for the propeller. So I tried to gently squeeze it to bring it in line and - yep, it broke. So I had to make a new one. I also did not glue the prop. cb
