  1. The Beagle has arrived. I will be doing an unboxing post in the next day or so. For information and if anyone else is thinking of building this model, and are in the UK, 'Hobbies' have a great discount on it at the moment, plus a free £10 gift voucher with first order. PLEASE NOTE, THIS IS NOT AN AFFILIATE LINK. https://www.hobbies.co.uk/occre-hms-beagle-60th-scale-model-ship-kit-charles-darwins-research-vessel?_gl=1*ffu09z*_up*MQ..*_ga*NzMxNzQxNDkzLjE3Njc4NzQwNzQ.*_ga_3RW4KTKPML*czE3Njc4NzQwNzMkbzEkZzEkdDE3Njc4NzQwNzYkajU3JGwwJGgw
  2. I have been building models sinse I was a child, and everything including, model railways, aircraft, remote control and static, and ships, but only really got serious over the last few years, now having more time.

I have built, Scotish Maid, Emma C. Berry, HMS Victory, The Mayflower, The Bluenose, and now curently building HMS Peregrine, and about to start HMS Beagle.

  3. Watch this space, another Occre Beagle build coming soon. I have been working on the Peregrine by Correl, it was a gift, but it's a bit smal and I have 10 thumbs. I will post some of the Peregrine build on here, but the Beagle will be the main one. Paul
  4. Hi All, I was searching for a review of HMS Peregrine by Corel and found quite a few here, it was only when I started looking that I realised I was already a member of the group. Anyway, to catch up, I have built Victory (who hasn't) Mayflower, almost finished Emma C. Berry, Bluenose, and now just started HMS Peregrine. I have to say I am surprised by all the positve reviews of the Peregrine, as I have found it so far to be the worst model I ever built, and for the price (although this was a gift) I think it's a complete rip off. Faults so far, few of the slots in the deck for the ribs are either off or not cut to size, the wood used for the keel and ribs, must be the cheapest ever (I broke the keel first day), the rear decks have the same problem, not lining up, and lastly, at the moment, the printing on the printed hardwood sheet is off centre and part of the Crows nest bases are off the sheet. Sorry for the rant, maybe I got a bad one, let me know your thoughts. To make me feel better, I just bought Occre's HMS Beagle 😉 Regards Paul Model builds:- https://studio.youtube.com/playlist/PLtm11DlXLEizm5DNwv4ZOmdTazQYEOcZ4/edit https://studio.youtube.com/playlist/PLtm11DlXLEixe0Dh-K59pWlehqZOiSXtn/edit https://studio.youtube.com/playlist/PLtm11DlXLEizm0Plw2QieOArGbGuSquPM/edit and the Peregrine so far. https://studio.youtube.com/playlist/PLtm11DlXLEixcFOdbNW1dVasyD-BsDXtb/edit
