    Thanks all, I have been busy, finished the three and have Sherbourne up to planking is next, I'll look at what a build log is and try to be a bit more active here.

    Hi - I bought a kit in 1993 thinking wood would be like plastic, realized the Artesina Latina 'Harvey' was beyond me, before any glue was used. I thought to try a solid hull - a New York Pilot boat from Model Shipways. These were both shelved, we moved from TX to MA and then to MN where I found them during the pandemic. I started lookig into the hobby again and bought Model Shipways shipwright 3 model combination. I also found Jason Port's Sherbourne build videos. I am now finishing up the Lobster Smack and will be starting the Sherbourne from Vanguard. The lobster smack is shown below. Thanks for letting me join

The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.

The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal.
