    This is my first wooden ship build. I'm an experienced plastic modeler and when I was 12, built the Revell Constitution. I was a woodworker for 25 years, creating chessboard and jewelry boxes, so I'm used to doing detailed work in wood. I'm very much enjoying this build after a 3 year hiatus from doing any creative work due ro health issues.

    Anyone know of an example where the main plastic deck was replaced with real wood? I have a fully equipped woodshop, and I'm thinking of replacing the deck for the wood look....

The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.

The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955.
