The inhaul is just a simple rope attached to the bowsprit traveller, no purchase/blocks needed. The wise books say it is not actually needed too much as the jib will push the traveller in, it is the outhaul that is more necessary. 

 

This is a subject a researched very recently. (for small boats only)

Recently I purchased the book "Rigging period ship models" by Lennarth Petersson, describing the complete rigging of a ship of the Line "Melampus". He states that all the ships of the Line were rigged the same way, so perhaps the attached picture is of some help.
