Jman8763 Posted September 9 Author Share #31 Posted September 9 Week update: I didn't do much this week with the ship. I needed a break honestly. I gave the ship a gloss coat and weather the hanger deck. I used oil paints to lighten up the blue a little. I installed the lights and wow the hanger deck looks amazing! Only thing I'm worried about is the heat transference to the flight deck. The deck felt pretty warm after 10-15mins on. I'm hoping the wooden deck will help with the heat. Only thing I am worried about is the heat either melting something or undoing the glue..... Since the hangar deck is complete, I am going to show off the 3d printed airplanes. They are from black cat models. The detail is amazing but man they are fragile as hell! The wheels are the weak point of these airplanes. This week coming up I plan on starting to paint the planes and give the hangar deck a matte coat to seal everything in. Any other feed back would be gratefully appreciated, specially with the weathering..... I'm new to using oil paints. I like the effect I have going so far. In the distance you see the dark navy blue but when you come closer to the ship, the blue fades out. My whole week is going to be painting the birds up.....
