hornet Posted June 15 #1 Posted June 15 I’m currently building the Vanguard Adder and am scratching my head as to why the ropes from the ships wheel are not linked to the tiller as I have seen in other builds. The ropes from the wheel go below deck and are,I assume, linked to the rudder by ropes and blocks/pulleys. Is the tiller there as a fail safe or am I missing something Hornet Current Build: - USRC Harriet Lane - Model Expo. chris watton Posted June 15 #2 Posted June 15 My fault, I really should have added an explanation in the manual. The tiller that you see is auxiliary - there is another tiller arm a little further down the rudder. If you look at the rudder, you can see I simulated the start of the lower tiller arm (a little stub near the top, but lower than the deck tiller arm) If you also showed a picture of the actual rudder, the lower tiller stub would be seen.
