Ok I think I am ready to dive in. I have read the manual and had a good look at the plans. Templates cut wood strips and blocks sorted and labelled. I also made a kind of template for the station lines on a piece of masking tape. Simplifies the marks instead of all of the lines on the plans. Next step is to make a block to attach to the deck so I can put it in a vice. Which I just ordered from Amazon. Then start marking station lines, rabbet line and waterline.

It is a beautiful ship. Enjoy the build!

Thank you. I am not sure about this solid hull so far. Wouldn't take much to go to far with no return.

I don't know if I really like this solid hull. It's a lot of sanding, carving and shaping. It's coming together though. Starting to look like a ship. I think I would rather be planking.

Both methods have their challenges.

With her being a solid hull it requires a lot of carving and sanding. Seems to take forever to get the templates to fit. The step at the waist is challenging. Between getting the bulwarks straight inside to allow the Timberheads to be straight and the small size of the waist. Found it a little tough. Bulwark after all the sanding and shaping is supposed to be 1/32. Finished to allow the proper size main rail. I persevered and got it pretty close. Hull is ready for a final sanding.
