Your stern looks great. Neat, clean, very impressive.

I too am going to apply a matt varnish to my hull when I finally paint it. I think it protects the paint besides adding to the overall appearence.

Your stern is very impressive. I like the fact that you assembled the stern entirely separate and then glued it to the hull. I do not know if I would have thought to do it that way.

Hi Gil,
Welcome back. Glad to hear you were able to recover your log. Your log is priceless. Now you know why god invented children. The other reason was grandchildren.
Be well my friend,

I emailed Caldercraft last week. I had an issue with the belaying pins for my Snake - but I have not recived an answer.

Sorry Patrick, I meant should you have - and you may have - used heat to shape the stern before attempting to glue it to the hull, thus having it curved and fully shaped before it was glued there by avoiding the the corners snapping off. I am asking so I will be able to avoid them snapping off when I build my Vic.
Thanks,

Hi Jim,
Welcome back and thanks for posting. Hopefully some of the other Snake builders will soon join us. I have just finished sanding the hull after the second planking and attaching the wales. I am waiting for my grandson to arrive- next weekend- and then we are going to paint the bulworks red. Until then I am starting to assemble the guns. Question do you know if the carronades would have been rigged with a train tackle at the rear? As of now I plan to rig the train tackle.
Thanks,

Hi Yon,
Thanks for reposting.

Hi Patrick,
In retrospect should you have slightly bent the stern facia thus giving it a slight curve?
