I too am considering the Diana as my next build and am also hoping for that Caldercraft 74 to be released. I am also considering purchasing the Amati 74 if all else fails as that looks like a nice kit.

Are you familiar with the book by Anthony Deane "Nelson's Favourite"  HMS Agamemnon at War 1781- 1809? It is a biography of the ship from her launching thru her sinking. It covers her life, various naval practices, Nelson, Lady Hamilton. It is an interesting  read for anyone interested in the ship herself or the war against Napoleon.

Everything looks great. Shame to cover it up.  Is there a way to leave some of it exposed by installing deck clamps and beams and partially planking the gangway and quarter deck above?

I would rig the ship and add the anchors as late as possible. Your build looks great.

I agree with you. There must have been quite a few different configurations as there were so many of this class built. Has anyone given any thought to swivel guns?

Love your build. The stern looks great as does the rest of the hull. Great idea to include the flag lockers. Have you thought about including swivel guns on the hull or the tops?

Check pages 76-79 of "The Sailing Frigate" by Robert Gardener. There is a side view of the figureheads of 2 Artois Class frigates in the NMM one of which is believed to be the Diana. One figurehead looks partially painted - the top half of the Diana's - the other seems to be unpainted. All of the pictures are in color.

The lamp looks great. I plan on adding a lamp on my Diana when I finally build her. I bought some from Cornwall Model Boats.  Would she have also had a lamp on her mizzen top?
