    Thanks Dennis and you are right...well,  sort of yes,, maybe?  I dunno anymore hehe.   I checked around and founds several pictures of the Mayflower and found stripes, triangles plain colors, different colors, painted hull, natural hull.. then found it depended on whether I was looking at the Mayflower or Mayflower II.   So, after my head was spinning I decided I would just stick with Chuck's scheme and go with it - I certainly wasn't finding anything to latch on to!!  And it works!

    Thanks Russ.  It actually looks much better in person - the photos look very clean while on the bench it looks a tad worn.   But overall I am gald with how the colors came out. 
     
    Now if I can do something about the glue marks.. am hoping when I give it an overall dull cote it will flatten and hide much of them, but not sure.

    Time for an update, I am about 75% through the first layer of hull planks, with a little luck I will finish tonight, next filling gaps and lots of sanding. All comments welcome.

    Time for an update, I installed all the deck planking and added the simulated tree nails, also drilled the mast holes. All comments welcome.
