  4. Thank you to everyone who gave during the holiday fundraiser (all 16 of you!) We appreciate your support! We raised $647 for MSW. It's a shame that with 47,000 people on this site, that more people didn't participate to support this great forum.
  5. I hope my translations met with your approval.
  6. Please translate to English so that more of our members can understand you. I will do it for you this time: From JMPAQ I note from reading all your exchanges that you are all efficient modelers and that you look at others with a little disdain! admittedly this OCCRE kit may not be a historical truth and may present many approximations or defects but it remains that it can be a good entry into the world of modeling and can bring great satisfaction to those who want to make a large model and a renowned ship; even if they make the modifications or clarifications they want from the many documentations on this ship From Frank1970 Hello I'm currently building the Victory, it's really fun, I want to attach the underwater planking because I like it better, now my question, should the oak planking also be nailed? Greetings Frank Herrlich From Salty Scot I'm new here and can't say too much about it, except that I have the Victory on the table myself (put to one side for a bit at the moment because I have other projects going on). I installed the copper planking myself, purely a matter of taste of course. I hope the matter will be resolved soon. Thank you.
  7. When you buy the kit, we send you a 124 page PDF monograph with step-by-step instructions. Toni's instructions are very detailed. Mary NRG Office manger
  8. Toni is at the IPMS conference in Wisconsin this weekend. I'll make sure she sees your question when she gets back. We have a saw jig that is available, but if you are cutting the wood manually, toni would probably have some better suggestions than I can offer. Mary
  9. I have to send your name in to Jim Hatch and he puts them up. I did that just now, so you should see your logo soon. 😁
  10. 17 people have purchased the kit so far (including you). Yours was shipped out less than an hour ago. Have fun with the build! Mary
  11. If you missed the live presentation, the video of this workshop will be up on the NRG website soon. If you weren't an NRG member at the time, join now and you, too, can see the presentation of that workshop and other previous NRG workshops!
  12. Hey everybody! Spring is almost over, but we are nowhere near reaching our goal to keep this great site going. Our admin work hard to bring you the best model ship forum around. How about showing them some love by making a donation today to support this website? Donate $10 or more by the end of June and we will send you an MSW sticker (looks just like the MSW logo!) Send $15 or more and we will send you TWO MSW stickers. Be sure to add your address to your PayPal payment, or send a message to Mary, our office manager, at NRGhomeoffice@gmail.com so she knows where to send your sticker(s). PS - Yes you can get 2 NRG stickers or 1 of each if you prefer. 😁
  13. We just activated it in the store a few minutes ago. We have an initial batch of 25 ready to go. If they start going fast we will order more parts right away! Mary
  14. I noticed that, too. If the white lines are cotton, they could be moth eaten, whereas the dark lines, being stained, were not affected. I have never seen such bad lines!
  15. Hi Dindsy, Sorry to say, you may want to redo the rigging. You won't be able to properly treat it with anything while the rope is on the model, and even with treatment, it may appear lumpy. Bob is right that you may want to invest in rope from Ropes of Scale. They have excellent rope and it is properly dyed so the colors are smooth and even. I have handled a lot of their rope and have never had problems with it turning fuzzy or fraying. They are an MSW sponsor, so you can reach their website by going to the MSW homepage and looking for their banner ad on the right side of the page about halfway down. Mary PS - I didn't mean to exclude Syren in my recommendations. They are the best in the US for blocks and rope, but Chuck is so busy that you might get the rope faster from Ropes of Scale.
  16. Don't forget that MSW is "Open" 24/7. There are people who visit this site at all hours of the day and night. There are also members who browse without logging in, so you don't see them, but they are there. They have to eventually log in to see certain parts of MSW (the build logs, for example). I think I've seen as many as 500 people logged in at once, but usually it's between 200 and 300. Mary
  17. Be sure to use your NRG member discount to get 20% off of most items in our webstore! If you misplaced the discount code, contact me at nrghomeoffice@gmail.com and I will give it to you. Mary
  18. Hi Frank, The directors have been talking about it, but nothing has been done so far. I think they want to release them in 10 year intervals, so it would probably be a year or so after Vol 70 No 4 is released. Mary
  19. PPS: The digital Journals go back to Vol 63 No 3, which is when we started the digital Journal. These are available only to NRG members with digital accounts, for a modest fee. We also have Vol 61.4, Vols 62.1 - 62.4, and 63.1 - 63.4 as PDFs available to NRG and MSW members who want them, for a modest fee. MSW members must let me know your MSW screen name so I can verify that you are an MSW member. Mary
  20. Hi Frank, Since you have a digital membership, you can also buy digital copies of those Journals and have them added to your digital account. Contact me at the office email and I can give you more details: nrghomeoffice@gmail.com Mary Van Dahm NRG Office Manager PS: Anyone else reading this who has a digital Journal account, may also contact me for back issues if your membership is current.
  21. Then you will have to order more! 😁
