I'm using some temporary pieces of wood as a guide for creating the supports for the grading which will be placed up front.

I always try to use a wire for more support on smaller pieces

now I will start from the front and work back toward the area I finished

I'm carving and shaping these braces by hand using an xacto blade and sandpaper. I don't use any power tools for my work. the only electric tool I have is a plank bender. it took some time to make these parts and my hands are really sore, it does not help when you have arthritis in the hands either.

while the glue dries on the lower brace I will work on the cargo strakes braces towards the front.

this board for the shroud I soaked in water for an hour, then I forced a curve in the wood using a clamp, once the wood was dry(3 hours) I could fit it onto the hull I added some wire supports before that

shaping the braces

next step is to shape these braces to the contour of the hull, I'm using 5x5 wood and stacking them to create more bulk to shape later.

second deck railing and third deck railing and aftrail

with the second deck rail finish its time to build them up using 4x4 pieces, they have been drill underneath and wire place in to keep them stable on the rail.
