Thank you, Wayne, it is a great pleasure for me to know that you and Allan follow my work, I consider gratings where Hatch is written as well -

Hi, and thanks 🙂 Allan, I am looking at the drawings, and I was wondering if there were any gratings in the lower and upper decks, I only see them shown in the forecastle deck, it's correct? -

Hi
Yes, the hatches would have had gratings on them on the upper and lower decks. The attached drawing by Wayne Kempson has the lower deck showing the hatches. These would definitely have had gratings. Same would apply to the upper deck. I left off the gratings on the ladder way hatches when I built my model of her. Wayne followed conventional drawing techniques of the time in that the gratings were not shown on the original drawings. If you look at the attached original drawing of the FC and QD, you will see that the gratings are not shown. Please email me directly at allanyed6469@gmail.com as I check it far more often than MSW, or call me anytime on Skype to chat. My Skype address is allan.yedlinsky Ciao

The wood always moves, due to humidity, temperature, my hull is firmly at the top, med below, to reduce movement, it is better to insert the fillings in winter, or in any case when the wood has more humidity, then the temperature will rise, and the humidity will drop, small gaps will be created, and the hull will have little movement -

I want to ask a question to the authors of the monograph, or who has news, there are no sculptures in the drawings, they can only be seen in some photos, is it possible to have the drawings? thank you -
Over the top☺️

About the NRG
If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.
The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.
The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
