Hi yes you are right, also with the channels either the shrouds would be in the way or the chain links would interfere with the gunport lids, there seems to be many contradictions in this kit ,struggling with this one even though I have built the Bounty and years ago the small Mantua Victory and the Panart Cutty Sark both of which my brother managed to sell for me!!Have been given the HMS Pegasus kit for my 65th! At least the instructions look good! best wishes from Mark -

Hi as you can see I have stuck very much to the kit instructions so nothing very original or historically accurate! But it pleases me! At the moment I am struggling with the masting ,not impressed with the plans and measurements given still will keep at it, will post some more pics later ,by the way have looked at your build log FANTASTIC!! Really like your tops ,you have great skills -

Hi the wood is already stained this blue ,but you could make it with say Prussian blue with a touch of black I have used this colour on the roofs of the after and fore castles hope this is of use, will post some photos soon as have not put any on for ages! -
She is looking great, I have to admit this is not an easy model not so much in the actual "doing" but some more instructions / photos may have been helpful. At the moment I am building up and placing the cannons will try and upload some photos all the best Mark

Hi Have posted a few more pictures of my (slow)! progress, like the way your couronne is going! -
Hi Mike I was looking at the Constructo Prince before I bought the corel Couronne , hope to build another Constructo kit sometime ,I see their Victory is on Amazon reduced by £133 but I think my wife would protest a bit!
-
Hi Mike thanks for the reply, yes you are right I could have finished the Victory but I was also doing a lot of painting ( pictures) and trying to run a framing business so things got a bit too much! Now I have reached the age where I can spend more time on model building ,a while back I finished the Bounty by Constructo not historically accurate but it pleased me ,now I am working on the Corel Couronne best wishes from Mark

Hi I built some of the Artesania Victory and I think it was the worse kit I ever bought castings were poor and many pieces over scaled, this was about 6 years ago so they may have improved, I gave the half finished kit to a friend, would not buy another Artesania kit!
-
Hi, you have really made great progress with her! Are the blocks ,rope etc included in the kit or did you have some set aside? The cannons should look good fully rigged not easy to do on a small scale! best wishes Mark

Shes looking really good, today I started to get things ready to begin mine, first thing I notice is the slots in the frames and keel will all need easing was this the same in your kit? At least my keel is straight!

Hi thanks for the reply I have been looking on the web just to get some ideas it seems there are quite a few variations so I guess its best to get settled on one plan and stick with it,I think this sometimes saves confusion! Hope to go to the maritime museum at Greenwich sometime if I find anything interesting will let you Know

The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal.
