Hi Doug the photos seemed to come out the reverse of how i posted them try looking at them from bottom to top the paper is infact doublesided tape used to stick the line to the board when wrapping

the trawl doors are the strange looking device the winch operates

Hello all bit more final touches completed

ive done some of the winch lines and various ropes

as for the trawl doors im not satisfied with the look of the 2mm brass surround i have decided to remake these using one of them i removed the brass and added 3mm to the bottom and 3mm to the side then i was able to use this as a template to create two new doors 1mm shy of the door with fitted brass wire i will next attach 0.5mm brass all around doors  and see how that looks

Yeah doug back to the bounty looking forward to it still got couple more we surprises with the mare on the cards tho

finish applied to fishboxes I have build the trawl doors however they are having finish applied at present so I have completed and rigged winch gallery

as the build begins to come to a close there will be no more parts to make I have included a pic of left over parts

them DAM careless fishermen !!!!!

fish boxes just temp at the moment still have to visit the sand and paint department think I will ca them in place

so many logs depict the two top ones slightly out of place think im a wee bit to ocd for that mine will be nicely stacked

base for winch and the fish boxes complete next I will turn my attention to the trawl doors

So am I but have set my alarm to get up and finish the ship maybe tomo

Redo of ratlines using bee,s wax and fish box rack

Indeed looking at the frizzy line lets her down a bit I may redo the rat lines as there is so little of them

Paint drying holds me back or I'd be done by now

Rudder completed various cleats and brass fittings added shroud lines and rat lines

Came across this kit a few times will be keen to follow and see how it builds up

Had a think about the last question I posted about the rigging it's no Hms victory if I run out I'll just strip it off and redo but the provided stuff looks plenty

How did anybody go for rigging thread on this ship ? If there is a hint the provided stuff will run out unless used conservatively then I will purchase my own hate running out then trying to match the provided stuff thanks

Hi Harry I did the stanchions first then kept the inside of handrail flush with them

handrails and furniture

Hello all nice productive weekend managed to plank the inner bulwarks fit the vertical stanchions which is changed to 3x2 instead of 3x3 and managed to get the handrails fitted

Giving it some thought fitting the hand rail first would mean you get the advantage of fitting each upright one at a time fine tuning as required

I've put some thought into it I'm not impressed with the kit recommendations the handrail doesn't meet it just butts against the keel leaving an ugly space between

I think I will recess the two handrails in so they meet also I don't like how the uprights prutred the hand rails the kit calls for 3mm x 3mm ill will use 3mm x 2mm

I think I will fit the three by two uprights first then try the modified handrail using the ply wood originals and see how that works

I'll post pics tomo night with how it turns out
