spent quite a lot of time tieing off the loose ends after ensuring they were taught enough, turn the build around and DAMMMMMMMMMMMMM, snapped the Jib boom, tried to repair but unable to as all the lines attached will not allow me to get a decent repair, so am going to leave it for now,

Went to the other end and now working on the mizzen mast, presently fitting the futtock shrouds

there is a big moral story to all this, but dont want to admit that it was a big mistake doing the bow area out of sequence

    Good afternoon everyone
I completed the fore mast standing Riggiing, and now onto the Mainmast, quite windy outside, but managed a few shots and its great for blowing the dust off

    Good evening everyone,
took me ages to find my own thread, after nearly two ,months away again
Anyway, i have completed the netting around the boomkins, and happy with them but i have now resolved where I think the lines go wrt the 6 lines that come from above the round house and pass through the thimbles on the spirit sail yard

My big question now is WHEN DO I START TO TIE EVERYTHING OFF AND SECURE THEM?

Sorry about picture quality, and my mancave is a tip

    Hello Kevin,
I chose not to use Gil's method of attaching netting at the bow, it seemed too complicated, instead I simply attached a rail front to back and glued the netting to the rail and to the timber work at the bottom. The attached photo shows what I mean. Just some food for thought.

Having a bit more fun colourizing another photo. Here is looking out from inside. Adding the colour makes a big difference for me.

Went back to my pictures in the 80's. Here is the real roundhouse. In black and white, and I coloured it using colours from Victory.

A paint job.I put a white base coat on the beakhead figuring it would make the blue a little punchier. Did anyone else do anything similar? 24 hours between coats. Best have coffee with Seventynet ) Oh, darn, I have to drill those holes -- meant to do before painting. Better do that before the next coat of blue.

My goodness. It's Christmas day. Merry Christmas to everyone. I've been way to busy on my other project. Half way there. Have been able to squeeze a few sessions in the shipyard. Actually, it's really good way of relaxing from the project I'm on these days. Been working on the beakhead and in particular the beakhead deck. Got the deck done with pieces from the real Victory. Still some work to do around the bowsprit opening.

Lots to do still. Will I ever get this done?

Been working on the rest of the upper deck as well. Plugging away when I can. On top of my project, snowboarding season opened early this year. We have had awesome conditions since the first of November so any time I can get to the mountains, the shipyard stays dormant. And I've been taking days in the mountains.

Was not planning on led under poop deck. So much for planning. Made a start at planking the poop deck 'off ship'. It's flat now but it sure wasn't when I looked at it next morning. Painted the underside white to give it some moisture and clamped it down on the table top. Can't imagine the shape if I hadn't caught it next morning. Have left it to sit for a few weeks clamped to the desk while I complete a task away from the shipyard. Lol
I stopped planking where i am because i relized that i will have some difficulty nailing it to the crossbar if i plank the whole width. Will mount as is later and finish planking when deck is fixed.
I am not planning on lighting the three lanterns at the stern
Just placed items on deck to see how it will be and have to admit am pleased.
On another point i am not so sure I would put three coats on the deck of satin finish. It almost looks like a sheet of ice. Hmm maybe I will sand this deck a bit. Hope it doesn't wreck it.

It's taken me how many years to get to this point? Decided to pre-line the inner bulwarks before mounting. Seems to be working okay. Way easier cutting and finishing than when installed.

Quarterdeck brushed with three coats of "varathane diamond wood finish satin water based crystal clear"
The colour seems to change depending on how the outside light from the window bounces off the deck. Check the colour change from the yellow reflection of the foremast on the deck.

Port racing stripe installed on quarterdeck. The wood colour changed when I sanded it down. You can see the difference with the starboard pieces not yet installed. Hmmm... Wonder why it changed. Oops it changed because I sanded it down. Wonder how I can get that starboard colour back.

Thank you so much Rob and Lawrence,
    for your nice compliments....

Also many thanks to all the "likes"....

    Rob,
I`m very pleased that there are so many different brass profiles available at my sources, so that these are welcome to be combined with the wooden structures. Also since the use of CA is so common, the glueing of different materials has become relatively easy. I also was able meantime to gain quite some experience with the soft soldering technique

    Lawrence,
I am pleased with the results so far, although now and then I get stuck up a bit in order to find the produceability solution, or an alternative thereto

    Update...

still working on the forward boats deck and lower bridge section. There is also a lot of deck-planking involved. The little platforms above the stairs coming up from the promenade deck, are the bases for the upper stairs that go to the bridge level (not shown here yet).
Actions that lay ahead : Its also time to think of how to install and fasten the four stacks with appr. 10 ° angle. Have already ordered a 25 mm twist-Auger type wood-drill, in order to make holes for a short 25 mm glued in dowel  to slip the brass stack tubes (26 x 0,5 mm ) on to.
