    As daunting as it seems, I've definately considered scratch building parts and probably will have to do so regardless! the 4 inch deck guns are what worry me the most.

    Hello everyone. I'm starting work on a 'restoration' project. The model is a scratch built Clemson class flush deck destroyer my father built about thirty years ago. The ship is damaged, dusty and forlorn, missing most of the guns and deck furniture, etc. I was hoping to bring it back to its former glory with the use of some resin/ metal parts but unfortunately my father built it in an old unusual TT scale (1/120th) and I'm having a hard time sourcing parts. Any ideas/suggestions? Thanks, Nigel

The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.

The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal.
