  1. Hi grsjax, any chance you can share a copy of the instructions? I bought one on ebay but no installation instructions. Thats what i get for assuming. Thanks
  2. I had posted my first attempt at rigging but it looked awful so I started from scratch and followed the image on instructions for threading the deadeyes. Look much better now. I'm also getting a bit faster at doing it so I think I won't be spending and entire day just threading 3 dead eyes
  3. I've seen it Catopower and am very drawn to it. Thought it might be better to start with an inexpensive one first then move up. Thank you for recommending it.
  4. I know this is a couple years later but I just purchased a Disarmodel Marieville from Ebay at a fraction of the cost. I'd like to try and build a wheelboat and thought this model would at least get me familiar with building one. If all goes well, I'd like to purchase one from OcCre or Modelshipways after. I'm currently working on my first build of the Bluenose II, Artesania Latina. Just need to do the rigging and it's done.
  5. Thank you Ian, I'll double check on the plans so that I know exactly what you mean. hahaha. I know it's a huge challange but I like working with my hands and even it doesn't come out perfect, at least I created something I've never done before. Feels really good so far. Eddie
  6. I was going to start this in 2019 but had to move and thought I had lost this model and somehow I found it in a bin hidden in my closet. I have terrible instructions but have the plans that came with the ship and did my best to figure things out on my own and by searching other sites with similar ships. I'm close to finishing the ship and out of curiosity I decided to search on this site for a similar ship then came across a dsmith who is a member her with the exact same model as mine. Well, mine doesn't look half as nice or as acurate as his, but I think I did a decent job for not knowing what I was doing. She's not prety but she's mine and I hope to improve as I go along. I have a couple more builds in mind and can't wait to get started. These few pictures of my build were just randome ones I took to show a friend of mine so they are not that great but you can see how I've progressed. The hull was started a few years ago before I lost it so I took it apart due to minor damage and attached again. Was trying to figure out the bullwarks but then realized I need to install the stern deck. Stern Deck and bullwarks installed. 1st and second layer of planking. Here I jump way ahead with installing the stern cabin. I know the stern base looks off but I think it's from the angle of the boat. Trying to see if the rails would look better stained or natural. Quick full view from bow. Learngint to assemble the mast. Apologies for not knowing the exact names of the parts off hand, but the block were the masts are joined were too small to fit. I had to widen them a bit but the began to crack. My guess is a bit of dry rot considering the ship has been in storage for nearly ten years.
  7. This is the only Bluenose II I've found that is exactly like the one I'm currently building. I have terrible instructions, no idea what the part numbers are so have been looking things up and building as I go. She's not perfect and to be honest, it's far more advanced than I thought it was but it sat for nearly 10 years in a bin. I thought it was lost when I moved and was excited to find it. I will post what little pictures I have while building it. Finding your post is a great relief becasuse now I know exactly how things should be placed. Eddie
  8. Hello everyone, I was given a Artesania Latina kit from a friend who found in attic of all places. Looks like all the parts are there but I cannot find the instruction manual. Would it be possible to share the manual you were given Doug? thank you, Eddie
