    Became interested in tall ship modeling when we moved to Maine from California and visited the Maine Coast Line. Explored the wonderful Maritime Museums here in Maine with a great history of ship building. Love exploring all of the New England searching out wonderful local sites and history.

    where in Maine are you. Wife and I grew up in Massachusetts and had many a wonderful trip to Maine. We camped at Camden Hills State Park as recently as the summer of 2018 on the way to PEI Canada.

      My wife and I moved here from California in 2016 when I retired. We have grand children in Massachusetts. We are in Biddeford, just south of Portland. We love going up to Camden, their schooner fest was great. I got interested in Tall Ships modeling after we moved here. Great past time for the winter months. We have been up and down all this coast line from Plymouth Mass to Lubec Maine in the summer months. Would like to get up to Nova Scotia and take a ride on the Bluenose.

      Nova Scotia is beautiful. Had great trip there years ago. Never got to ride the Bluenose, but we did get a schooner ride in Bras d’or lake.

      The  maternal half of my family are all from NS. 
      All things considered we think Prince Edward Island is nicer to visit. It’s like driving around in a post card.

The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.

The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build.
