Thanks Jacques... Build logs are not my best work. For me, they take much time which at this point shortens modeling time. I really appreciate the builders who take the time and effort to do them. They provide much needed assistance to beginners like me. And the pictures are outstanding! But as you suggest, maybe I see if I can start one. Thanks again Chuck

Anyone... As I start this kit I notice on Frame (Bulkhead) A, there is a slight vertical laser cut line. It can bee seen in the very first post and some other posts further along in the log. I am wondering if there is reason for this line? I went through the instructions and can find no reference to it. Maybe I'm missing what the point of the line is. Can anyone enlighten me. Thanks Chuck

Eric.....Well, what a surprise! The CD is in a language I don't understand. I guess I'm flying in the dark without lights. LOL... I'll be following your build very closely. The Conny experience will help along with your log and the CD pictures will hopefully get me thru. Maybe a while before I start as other projects are on going. ChuckCHS

But your build is looking great. I especially like the colors on the lower 2 decks. Yes.... I learned very quickly to populate deck by deck! It was hard to continue building the model and stoping to work on the little details. But it pays off in the end. ChuckCHS 👍

Eric Great work on your SF cross section. Hope I can do as well. Just received this kit from Amozan. It has an CD included in the package. Is the CD the instructions? ChuckCHS

Eric...I'm doing a cross section of the Connie. But I'm afraid my skill level is not a precise as yours. Your build looks exceptional compared to mine. I'm wondering, what is the source for this kit? I think I'd like to add to my stash. Chuck

Started another post on this topic many moons ago but I believe it's lost in space now. I've been working on this off and on for over a year and progressing to a point where rigging looms in the near future. So I purchased the NRG's rigging kit but I try to post on that topic later. I know the cross section is not a show piece but as someone stated in another post, every day is a learning experience. For me, it's not about creating a show piece at this stage in life. It's about just building and having fun. Learning to do it better is my second priority. Hope you enjoy the picture. (first posting after learning to post pictures). My plan going forward is to finish this build and the rigging kit and building the MSW Conny. Regards Chuck IMG_2152.HEIC

Hello everyone.... My name is ChuckCHS and I'm working on the cross section of the USS Conie. Kit Nbr MS2045. This is a first attempt at a birders log so please excuse any misspellings, grammar errors, and especialy any remarks that may tend to be offense to anyone. I assure you, that's not my intent. I started this model after several more difficult starts of other MS kits but have found this one probably just as difficult, for a beginner that is, but at least not as so overwhelming. IMG_2149.HEIC I dislike waiting for glue to cure, just about as much as watching grass grow, so I've elected to also start smaller bit & pieces as well. Currently I working on the Mast, thank goodness there's only one, the cannons, the gun deck, the rope ladder and the yards. So far, i'm enjoying the processes. Making big parts out of small parts is very enjoyable. One thing I really hate is glueing my fingers together with CA. Starting to use Titebond which seems to set, if left alone, after a few hours. I've seen other suggestions on the forums which I plan to also try. I'm going to hit the submit button now. Hope it works out. Regards Chuck

Well...believe it or not, I'm back lurking around after several years. Story is a little different, after finding the Smuggler (Steven Tabor) more difficult then expected, I purchased several additional kits from MSE. The technology and pieces are so different from airplanes I became very confused and fustrated. Study, of which I'm not very good, was cured by "lurking" at all the forums and pictures. Well, long story short, one the the kits I purchased was the USS Conny, Cross Section, thinking it might be easer as it was not a full ship. Progess has been slow as I learn terms, parts and improve skill level. I will try to post pictures as I learn that skill. That being said, I am amazed at the skill level found on this forum by all taking the time and effort to contriburate. Regards, and thanks for inclusion Chuck CHS

Hello modelers.. I’ve recently joined this elite group and have been browsing around for the last several days to become familiar with the site. To say the least, I’m amazed ! To introduce myself, my name is Chuck and I live in SE Pennsylvania . As the story goes, I’ve been into models for years but mostly aviation stuff. Started into real aviation very early in life and continued till retirement n 2010, but still working at the local airport for fun. Very normal and boring to date. Well, my life change a few weeks ago, with a major medical event. No more flying for me! But the really interesting part of the story is yet to come. My Brother John pulled up roots, purchase 7 acres in Maine, built a house and moved. Most people move to warmer climate, but not John. For years, he and his wife have boarded the schooner Stephen Taber out of Rockland, ME, presenting classes to fellow travelers on how to take pictures of light houses. My great idea was to build a model of the ST as a house warming gift. The closest kit I came across is the Smuggler from Blue Jacket. Now it just so happens that the Blue Jacket company is very close to where my Brother now lives. How cool is that!! Kit was purchased a couple of weeks age and now working on the hull. As soon as I learn how to post pictures, I’ll do so as soon as I learn how to start a blog. For now, happy modeling to all. Chuck
