Hello, I’ve made the two frontal pieces from scratch because i sanded to much.. Anyways, they are not glued yet, still drying.. I like the result. Balsa is amazing to work with..

Step 26 ✅ Made some mistakes before and now the bow is a bit different. But it’s fine, my second project will be better 🤞🏻 (Masts only for the photo) 😅

@DrKThanks! after the first planking, I’ve used only sandpaper. A round tool with sandpaper is good for the curves.. I had to remove almost all the nails, because sanding with nails is not easy 😬 This is my first model ship, I don’t have all the knowledge about ship modeling, in this forum you have masters than can help you a lot, more than myself 😅

@BranPie i know what it feels like, it happens with me sometimes. After work, I arrive at home tired, wanting to relax/sleep. And the ship is the last thing i do after my duties.. that’s why i do little steps at a time. Let’s get started! I’m also publishing my work on the Occre page on Facebook so it helps as well.

Hello, I’ve made some progress, not much, as usually. Tried wood putty for the first time and all the holes are now covered..

Thanks @BobG! This forum and the YouTube videos help me a lot. The Occre instructions are very helpful as well, for a beginner like me. 😅

About the NRG
If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.
The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.
The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
