It looks like the railings are part of the photo-etched screens and side panels which may make installation a whole lot easier.

I purchased the admiralty Bounty kit by subscription. I has also bought their IJN Akagi previously. Their kits hold their own against any other reputable manufacturer and the instructions are very good. The only point I can complain about is the lack of plans. They rely solely on the instruction book and do not provide any plan sheets.

I do have to praise their customer service. After I received my first four Bounty installments, they ran a 25% off sale. I called and asked if I was eligible. To my surprise, the reduced the price on all future installments by 25% AND refunded me 25% on all previously delivered installments. Can't complain about that!

The wood frets on the Bounty appear to be a type of mahogany which is fine but a bit bland. The cuts are clean and precise. It should be a fun model to build. someday!

I completed the keel and deadwood assembly.  All the parts are cherry, except the false keel which is rosewood.  There are 27 individual parts making up this assembly.  Next is gluing up the frames.  The hull will be framed Hahn style, and the frames themselves are sistered - just as they were in the "Patrick Henry".  There are 37 frames in all:  19 full frames, 9 pairs of half frames and 9 pairs of cant frames.

    Hello my friends,

I want to thank you all for your kind words.  It is good to see that compassion around. I will dedicate my Berlin to my Dad and thus I will always remember his passion for the Sea and the naval world.

CU soon when I go back to my shipyard regulary

I bought their IJN Akagi kit. The Akagi kit is similar to any other kit in that there are always compromises. However, overall I am satisfied. I imagine that the victory kit is of similar quality. Do look for the you tube videos of its construction, they will give you a good idea of the kit contents. Since the final and only planking is basswood, I would recommend that the model be painted.

One more thing you may want to consider: The Akagi didn't come with plans, only instructions. I suspect that the Victory may be without plans too.
