Hello! This kit reminds me of when I built the Alert. Therefore, I'm following your build with great interest and am curious to see what you create with the kit. I wish you continued success! Andreas

Hello everyone! Thank you so much for your kind words and interest. 😉 The construction of the frames is progressing well. I have a quick question for everyone. It concerns the infill pieces between the frames that have a drainage groove. These positions aren't marked on the plans. However, I assume the A'rtésien also had them. Is there a specific arrangement or position for these drainage grooves? Source: La Vaisseau de 74 Canons J. Boudriot Have a great weekend everyone! Regards Andreas

Hello everyone! Thank you so much for your kind comments, I'm very pleased and motivated! I've continued transferring the waterline plan. The frames have also been transferred to it, the sheer board has been cut out, and everything has been aligned. This (hopefully) provides a good foundation for setting the frames. I wish everyone a happy new year and good health! Regards Andreas

Hello everyone! First of all, thank you so much for your likes and interest. Chris, thank you for your motivation. I found your work on this excellent, as well as your entire build log. Continuing with the cleats, which are now finished. For a first attempt, I'm very happy with the result. The finishing touches will be done during sanding with the frame. Regards Andreas

Hello everyone! Thank you so much for your positive Feedback:) The eight forward double frames have been completed. Before I continue with the frames, I want to finish the bow section and attach the sternpost. So, it's time for the cleats. This is my first time doing this; let's see if I can manage it properly. Regards Andreas

About the NRG
If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.
The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.
The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
