Denis: There are four very visible coils in a sparse and very open area mid deck, attached to kevels that needed to lie spooled on the deck. Those I felt needed extra attention, otherwise I agree with you – not worth the extra detail work. Just coiling a spool and laying it above the cut end is just about perfect.
    ============
Those four + two are done, now onto the bow area.

Frank, So honored that you really like my work especially coming from such a skilled and detailed builder such as yourself so very kind, and much appreciated indeed. Your weathering detailed work is at a level that I will never personally achieve. Your Alert quickly comes to mind.
EJ, yes you are right that is indeed, for us, unimaginable indeed.
     Denis, thanks.
Mates,  as always thanks so much for following along as well as the likes.

Finishing up loose ends on the weather deck. Using the same technique that I used for the pin coils. Here are a few pics FYI

The inboard planking at the bow was completed by cutting pieces to shape. The curves needed were too extreme to edgebend. My paint job went to hell during the sanding of the cap rail. It is necessary to get the rail as thin as possible to avoid looking bulky. The overlap of the rail outboard is 1/32”.

My original plan was to leave the cap rail natural, but it looks unfinished without paint now that I see it installed. It will take some time to paint so here are some photos in the meantime.

Thanks guys. I added a revised photo in my previous post. Had to remove the cap rail behind the seat back. The shapes were loosing symmetry after more sanding and filing. Those sections of the cap rail were recreated and will be installed after I touch up the paint in that area.

Finished up the middle rail bits at the mainmast. The stern section is also done. - finally.
Here are a couple of mainmast shots. Now onto the foremast.

    Hola Michael:
As in the picture of the museum in  BB Vasa instructions there are not holes in the cross bits and the lines are only coiled on the cross. If you already made the new holes it will easy to omit them.  Here a picture of my Vasa:

    Hola Michael:
Sure, if I can help you in anyway don´t doubt to ask.  All the stitches were made with my wife sewing machine after marking previously the lines.  About your specific question, for that sail i didn´t put any reinforcement, but I put it at the foremast lower sail. (picture) I took several pictures of the sails and don´t remember which of them I sent it to you, please tell me  if you want any in particular.

Hi Johann, it is nothing difficult. Thimbles are made from brass tube 1,0x0,1 mm (resp. 1,5x0,1 mm). The tubes are cut to lenght cca 0,8 mm (resp. 1,2 mm) (see first picture) and then they are slightly compressed on both sides by a punch and hammer.
So blocks for masts are prepared and partly installed on the relevant masts, now I will continue with the blocks on the yards.

The thwarts were recut and scrap wood was used to keep the proper spacing according to the plans. The grooves were made with a hand razor saw and miter box. After all thwarts were cut and placed, I used a scrap piece of the same width to mark the center lines for the longboard. The notches were filed last. Here's a photo after two coats of Wipe-on-Poly.

I plan to glue all this together prior to installation.

Thought I'd take a small break from painting to dry-fit all parts again. While there are several more coats that need to be applied, I believe it's getting closer to an acceptable finish.

In this dry-fit I am looking at the thwarts and questioning if they butt up against the frames enough. I feel I may need to redo these so they butt up against the frames more. Any thoughts fellow Pinnace builders? Will this be a problem during inboard planking?

So I’m stuck need to cut these ropes and can’t reach them.
Went to Google University and “searched for “long needle nose hobby scissors” --- Nope! Learned that they are called Embroidery Scissors haha ..
Most of you certainly already knew this.

OK they’ll get here in a couple of days. May start the mainmast organization at this point.
Oops starting to break stuff -OK – Now its time for The Vikings Season 5.

    Hola:

Before gluing the main rail I made the cleat platform and see how it fits. Here is important to mention that the main rail at the stern must have enough space to accommodate the transom pieces including the fashion pieces.

Next step was preparing the bulwark planks.  For this the five planks needed are clamped together and painted all at once painting them, one side black and the other cream white. Doing this facilitates gluing them to the stanchions:

Here you can see the bulwark done:

Finally I do the the transom including the fashion pieces. For these I used 1/64" strips instead the 1/32 that mention the instructions because I think they fit better:

Denis: Thanks I was thinking of posting the technique that seems to work just fine.
It took about 10 or so of these to get what I was hoping for - looking  as they do now. (bow area was a learning area)

These last three are what I like much better. Thanks so much for your nice compliment - always appreciated.
Will, in-fact, post the sequence next week - simple enough ----- Heading out of town for the long weekend.

Albert, Dirk - thank you for comments. Dirk, I spend most of my time building a Pandora and I do not have much time to watch other posts, but I must say that your work on USS Confederacy is also wonderful.
Lower masts are finished with colouring, tops are completed by deadeyes and railings.

    Hi Mates,

     Dave: so kind thanks !
Denis: Yes that basket needs some help – it’s on my list of fixes – happily that list is getting very short.
EJ: Thanks so much. One of the great advantages of MSW is learning from other builders. My skills since I joined could only have gotten better by also emulating other builder’s log ideas/techniques for this current effort as well as sage advice from member posts. I’m happy that my work on the sails might prove helpful to you as well.
     Frank: as always (;-)
Went to see how the ship case wooden base is coming along –so far very happy with the look. It should be ready sometime next week. Then need to figure out how to “set” the ship.

Just barely starting the foremast rigging with pins.
Thanks for the likes as well – so appreciated.

First of all I would like thank you all for very very nice comments - I am very happy for that. And now the answer for Greg´s (dvm27) qustion: the wooden woolding hoops are made from very thin pear plank - dimesions are 0,4 x 1,0 mm. This plankmust be thoroughly moistened in water and then it can be carefully wrapped around the corresponding round rod. Both end of the planks are fixed and after drying (preferably overnight) you get a wooden spiral from which the individual rings are then cutted - see picture.
And now a few new photos - lower mast tops. It remains to add rail, deadeyes and blocks - it will be made after coloring.

Shaping and installing the risers was a tricky task. I matched the curve of the third strake down from the shear fairly close. More time was spent creating a symmetrical pair.

Now I can add some paint and begin some small structural modifications. I'm inspired by the below example provided by Chuck to our fellow member in his build. Shown below.
