17th and 18th Century Ship Models From The Kriegstein Collection 2007 Edition

As an early birthday present I was given this book and although I have only skimmed through it so far I am impressed. I will write a full review once I have had more time to read through it. The model ships are very well photographed and the paintings have been cleanly scanned and with the pages being large it is easy to appreciate the models. I have included a few pictures from the book to show examples. I will gladly post more if anyone is interested.

I picked this one up a few years ago - one of my BONUS finds at the STRAND, here in New York.  I still go into the store, on the regular, because I know that one in twenty visits will unearth a real gem!  This is really a great book for the quality of the illustrations, the story of each model's provenance, and what it is to have the luxury to collect these truly fine works of art.

Be aware that there are two editions of this book. The second edition is expanded and has even more fascinating stuff in it. Second edition is available at SeaWatchBooks, linked on this site.

Druxey,  I think that title might be sold out at Seawatch Books.  I've looked for it before, and can't locate it on their website.

I did see that there were two editions to this book also when I had bought it. I think I may still have the other on my wishlist but I do remember that it was unavailable at the time I bought this one. Granted that was some time ago now.
