Anyone here know the original dimensions of the bounty's decking planks also which wood was used as I'm planning on making individual planks from a veneer.one other question while I'm about it, on my plans the port to starboard joints run in straight lines...is that correct. Many thanks in advance

Kev,

Planking lengths on deck would have been based on what was available at the time in the shipyard.  Usually around 26-30 feet per plank.

As for butt-shifts, have a look here in the article database: http://modelshipworldforum.com/ship-model-framing-and-planking-articles.php  There's one titled "Simple Butt-Shift Deck Planking".
